A school decision is a curriculum, admissions, commute and total-cost decision at once. Treat it as the constraint that may determine the neighborhood and package you can accept.

Choose the educational path before the condo
Start with the child’s current curriculum, likely future moves, language needs, learning support and the family’s budget. “Best school” is not a useful filter until those choices are made. A school can make a neighborhood convenient or turn a seemingly short commute into a daily burden.
Ask for the full annual cost, not tuition alone
Ask each school for its current fee schedule and admissions checklist. Model application, registration, capital or development fees, tuition, bus, meals, devices, uniforms, activities and deposit separately. Make the school confirm whether a quoted fee is annual, termly, refundable or conditional before you treat it as a relocation-budget number.
Run an admissions conversation early
- Ask whether the relevant year group is accepting applications and what the current process is.
- Confirm curriculum, language support, learning support and transport from the neighborhoods you are considering.
- Request the current calendar and fee schedule directly from the school, with the date saved in your move file.
- Keep a workable temporary-housing plan while the school and lease decisions settle.
